Venetian mirror – (Phoenician mirror) is a glass pane covered on one side with a thin layer of metal (a few atoms thick, most often it is aluminum), so that one side reflects most of the light and the other lets it pass (ignoring the absorbed and diffused light). The effectiveness and practicality of Venetian mirrors is only revealed when they are placed between two differently lit spaces.
