LUX - a painting series by Krzysztof Sokolovski realised at the beginning of 2020. "I paint the light of faith because I am overwhelmed by black skepticism. I paint the light of hope when the shadow of doubt creeps behind me. I paint the natural light because the night that haunts me comes. I paint the light of life because I wonder about the darkness of death. I paint the light of knowledge when I see gray ignorance. At the same time, I am enchanted by our resemblance to a moth flying to the light from a dark room where people live. What if you light up a light in your mind where no one can put it out?"

Egg tempera - the most durable technique, next to wax tempera, in which the binder of colours is organic. It can be wine, vinegar or water mixed with egg yolk (egg tempera). This technique has been known since antiquity and was most popular in the Middle Ages. Unlike oil painting, the paint dries quickly, becomes brighter when dry and it is more difficult to select and mix colours.
