Subtle Being - an open series of artworks by Krzysztof Sokolovski, including icons of various sizes, altarpieces and paintings. The name of the series refers to the work of Professor Jerzy Nowosielski.
Indian ink - consists of carbon black combined with water. It forms a waterproof film when dried. The binding agent can be gelatin or, more commonly, shellac. It has superior lightfastness and can be used on a variety of substrates. It is used in medical applications.
Venetian mirror - (Phoenician mirror) is a glass pane covered on one side with a thin layer of metal (a few atoms thick, most often it is aluminum), so that one side reflects most of the light and the other lets it pass (ignoring the absorbed and diffused light). The effectiveness and practicality of Venetian mirrors is only revealed when they are placed between two differently lit spaces.
